Business, Class, and Appointment Policy - Farney Healing Arts Center

Reiki Session Expectations

The first session begins with a brief interview and client intake form. You are asked a series of questions so I may plan the most beneficial session/series of sessions for your needs. Please keep in mind that privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times. I subscribe to the IARP Code of Ethics as posted on this website.

A Reiki session is performed on a massage table and you, the client, are always fully clothed.  A Reiki session may start with the client lying face up resting comfortably. I will complete the standard Reiki hand positions. If you indicate in the interview or at the beginning of the session that you wish for me to pay attention to a particular injury or issue, I will also concentrate on that area during the session. For a regular stress-reduction session, the head and torso are worked on first, followed by the legs, feet, and back.  Clients can ask for different parts of the body to be worked on, or not worked on, and are encouraged to discuss this with me at the beginning of the session.

A Chios® session is performed on a healing table and you, the client, are always fully clothed.  A Chios® session will start with the client lying face up resting comfortably. I will start with an intuitive health scan, body scan, and aura scan.  Afterwards, I begin working on any energy defects identified during the scans.  Finally, Chios® has several hand positions for Chakra balancing and healing.  If you indicate in the interview or at the beginning of the session that you wish for me to pay attention to a particular injury or issue, I will also concentrate on that area during the session. Clients can ask for different parts of the body to be worked on, or not worked on, and are encouraged to discuss this with me at the beginning of the session.

Client/Practitioner Expectations

During the session, clients are encouraged to relax and inform me if anything makes them uncomfortable, either physically or psychologically. Please feel free to talk with me regarding feedback during the session. I often will talk with you before or after, but usually not during, as I want you to relax fully during the session. If something feels uncomfortable during the session; however, please speak up immediately. I want to know as soon as possible.

I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, including but not limited to someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Sexual harassment is not tolerated.  If the practitioner’s safety feels compromised, or if any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances are made, it will result in immediate termination of the session, and you will still be liable for payment of the scheduled appointment.

To use a cancelled appointment credit, book another appointment for the same service online, and you will not be prompted to pay again.  If you wish to exchange the credit for a different type of service, you must call us to have the appointment manually credited back to your account.

If the Center needs to reschedule a client's appointment, we will do so 24 hours in advance whenever possible.  In rare circumstances, the Center must cancel appointments on short notice (illness, weather, etc.)  In this case, clients will receive half the paid session rate as in-store credit.

Single Class Policies

Single classes are one time classes, or a class series where future attendance is not dependent on previous class sessions.  Students can mix and match class sessions or take the class as it aligns with their topic interests and/or schedule.

Single Class Length

Each single class has the class time commitment clearly explained in the class description.  Students should only sign up for a class if they can attend the ensure session.   If a student is unable to meet the class time commitment but still wants to attend, please check with the instructor first.  In some cases, this can be accommodated, but in other cases, this option may not be available.  For example, late arrivals are turned away in meditation style classes to avoid disruption, and partial class attendance for certification classes will result in an automatic failure.  However, for other general lecture classes, partial attendance may be acceptable.  Please check with the instructor if partial or late attendance is prohibited for your desired class.

Single Class Tardiness

Please arrive at least 5 minutes early so the class can start on time.  In some cases, late arrivals may be denied class entry such as meditation classes.  Students denied entry due to tardiness will not receive a refund nor transfer credit.  When possible, we will accommodate late entry into your class.  If the instructor is late, the class will wait 15 minutes for the instructor to show up.  If the instructor shows up, the class will be extended as necessary so you will still receive the full class time.  If the instructor is unavailable 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, the class is cancelled.  Students are entitled to a full refund for any class cancelled by the Center.

Refunds

Classes are non-refundable, but you can receive in-store credit if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.  See the cancellation policy for more details.

Single Class Cancellations

Class cancellations are always non-refundable, but the amount paid is transferable to other classes, products, or services if the class is cancelled at least 24 hours in advance.  Late cancellations and class no-shows are non-refundable and non-transferable.  If you cancel the class at least 24 hours in advance, you will receive in-store credit to apply towards another class, product, or treatment, which is valid for one year from the original payment date.  If you call us and get an answering machine, please leave a message on the machine, including the date and time of the call.  If you leave us a message at least 24 hours in advance, the class will be transferable.  Last minute emergency cancellations may or may not be transferable solely at the Center’s discretion.

To use a cancelled class credit, book another class with the same price online, and you will not be prompted to pay again.  Otherwise, you must call us to have the class tuition manually credited back to your account.

If the Center needs to cancel a class, we will do so within 24 hours whenever possible.  In rare circumstances, the Center must cancel classes on short notice (illness, weather, etc.)  In this case, students are entitled to a full refund of the class.

Course Policies

Courses are a series of classes (multiple date commitments) that must be taken in succession to complete the course.  Attendance is required at all the classes.

Course Length

Each course (series of dates) has the course duration and time commitments clearly explained in the course description.  Students should only sign up for a course if they are able to attend ALL of the sessions.  If a student is unable to meet the course commitment but still wants to attend some sessions, please check with the instructor first.  In some cases, this can be accommodated, but in other courses, this option may not be available.  For example, partial attendance in certification classes will result in an automatic failure.  However, for other general lecture classes, partial attendance may be acceptable.  Please check with the instructor if partial attendance is prohibited in your desired course.

Course Tardiness

Please arrive at least 5 minutes early so the class can start on time.  In some cases, late arrivals may be denied class entry such as meditation series.

Refunds

Courses are non-refundable, but you can receive in-store credit if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.  See the cancellation policy for more details.

Course Series Cancellations

Course cancellations are always non-refundable, but you can transfer to another section of the same course for free or receive in-store credit based on the schedule below. Late cancellations and course no-shows are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you cancel the course at least 24 hours before the first class in the course, you will receive in-store credit to apply towards another class, product, or treatment which is valid for one year from the original payment date.  If you call and get an answering machine, please leave a message on the machine, including the date and time of the call.  If you leave us a message at least 24 hours in advance, your course will be transferable.  Last minute emergency cancellations may or may not be transferable solely at the Center’s discretion. To use a cancelled course credit, book another session of the course online, and you will not be prompted to pay again. Otherwise, you must call us to have the course tuition manually credited back to your account.

Cancellations occurring after the first class or less than 24 hours before the first class, may receive in-store credit on the following schedule:
If you wish to register for a future offering of the same course in lieu of a refund, please contact us to re-register. You may not request in-store credit if you re-register.

   >75% of classes remain:  80% of tuition as in-store credit
51-75% of classes remain:  50% of tuition as in-store credit
26-50% of classes remain:  25% of tuition as in-store credit
0-25% of classes remain:  No refunds, credits, or transfers

If you choose to receive in-store credit using the above schedule, you cannot re-register for the same course for free. Standard course fees will apply.

If the Center needs to cancel an individual class, a make up session will scheduled consistent with the timing of the other course sessions.  Should a student be unable to attend a make up session, it is the student's responsibility to work out a remediation plan with the Center to ensure passing the course and receiving the associated certification(s) (if applicable)

If the Center needs to cancel an entire course, all students are entitled to a full refund.

Missing Individual Course Class(es)

Missed classes are not permitted unless you have received the Instructor's permission in advance.  Instead, you should only register for the course when you can attend all the sessions in order.  Missing a class will cause a serious gap in your education and will cause automatic course failure. Should a student be unable to attend a class, it is the student's responsibility to work out a remediation plan with the Center to see if passing the course and receiving the associated certification(s) (if applicable) is still possible.

Groupon Policy:

The value of your Groupon is determined by your booking date. If you cancel and reschedule your appointment, the reschedule date is your booking date. If you book your Groupon before the expiration date, you will receive the advertised service without charge.  If you book your Groupon after the expiration date, your Groupon is expired and can only be redeemed for the Amount Paid.  We will deduct the Amount Paid from the full price of the service, and you will have a balance due. To book your Groupon for a free session, you must book before the expiration date.  Groupon appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to be redeemable. (For more information about our cancellation policy, please see the Appointment Cancellation section above.)

Fees

If a practitioner determines the treatment won’t help you or is otherwise not able to work with you, the treatment is ended at that time and you will not be charged for the appointment.

Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made prior to treatment.  We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. I do not bill clients nor provide direct billing for insurance.

Individuals who have financial constraints are welcome to discuss this with me to see what can be worked out, such as a sliding fee scale, referral to a practitioner with a fee you can afford, or referral to a monthly student clinic as a practice subject.

Professionalism

The Center ascribes to a code of ethical behavior, which is available upon request and posted on the website.  We follow all of the statements in this ethical code and have strong belief that practitioners and their clients shouldn’t engage in intimate social relationships.  Personal and professional boundaries are respected at all times.  I only perform services for which I’m qualified (professionally, physically, and emotionally) and able to do, and refer to appropriate specialists when work is not within my scope of practice or not in the client’s best interest.

We customize the treatment to meet the client’s needs.  We keep accurate records and review changes before each session.  We respect all clients regardless of their age, gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, body type, political affiliation, state of health, and personal habits.
