Contracts, Payment Plans, and Auto-Pays Definition

Contracts are Payment Plans (also known as Auto-Pays) which are deducted from your account on a set schedule.  This is useful when you want to break up a payment across several weeks or months to make it more affordable.  However, payment plans are only offered for classes where you can "pay as you go" and break up the cost into equal payments across the entire offering.  We do not extend credit, so payment plans are not available for single sessions or classes.  

Eligible Offerings

Payment plans are only available for offerings where the cost can be divided up in equal payments across the entire offering.  Payment plans are always structured so you pay for the services you receive on the day you receive them.  In order words, if your service or class meets once, you must pay the entire amount.  If it meets twice, you can split the payment between both sessions.  If it meets 10 times, you can pay 1/10 for each class.  We do not extend credit, so you can not use payment plans to create a balance and pay it off later.  However, we are happy to work with you to accept payments across the length of your offering. 

Payment Types

For payment plan Auto-Pays, we accept credit cards and bank electronic fund transfers (EFT).  You will need to decide which payment method is right for you, and provide the appropriate payment details.  If you wish to use EFT, EFT purchases cannot be made online.  You will need to call us to setup an EFT payment plan.  After your Auto-Pay is setup, you can manage and monitor the Auto-Pay from the Account Balance section of your online account.   There you can cancel as well as freeze your Auto-Pay, view the agreement details, and view the payment schedule.  

Contractual Agreements

All payment plan Auto-Pays are subject to a contractual agreement.  Please read your contract terms carefully before purchasing.  Your contract will outline all the terms and conditions of the Auto-Pay including what services you'll receive, payments, rates, commitment length, freezing, and early termination fees.  You can view our current payment plan options by visiting Payment Plans, Auto-Pays, Bundles, and Contracts.  If you don't see what you need there, ask us to see if we can create a custom payment plan to fit your unique needs.


You can cancel your payment plan at anytime.  However, this will also result in the termination of your contracted services.  In most cases, this is a class, which means you can no longer continue attending the class.  If you decide to re-register for the class in the future, you will need to pay the full class tuition again.  If you are canceling because you need to transfer to a different session of the same class, do not cancel your Auto-Pay contract.  Instead, you can transfer your existing Auto-Pay contract to a different session if your scheduling needs change.  Keeping your existing Auto-Pay will prevent you from paying for the same class twice, so you should complete the Auto-Pay payments (or freeze your Auto-Pay.) 

Freezing/Suspending Your Auto-Pay

You also have the option to freeze/suspend your Auto-Pay for a 10% fee per billing cycle.  This option is good if you are changing class sessions and do not wish to pay full price each billing cycle while you are between sessions.  Freezing/suspending your Auto-Pay will reduce your Auto-Pay charges to 10% of the contract rate each billing cycle, but it will not reduce the total amount owed and it will not decrease the amount of time of the contract. Once you start using the offering again, your Auto-Pay will be reinstated, and you will begin paying the full, contracted price again.  The suspended time will be added back into your contract.  For example, if you were suspended for 3 months and your contract is for one year, then your contract end date will increase by 3 months and become a 15 month contract.   In other words, your contracted period will always be completely fulfilled. A year contract will require a full year of full payments.  As a convenience, we offer the ability to suspend your Auto-Pay temporarily, but it will not reduce the total amount owed and it will not decrease the amount of time of the contract. All fees paid during suspension periods are convenience fees and do not reduce the amount you owe on the contract.

Continuing to pay even if you are not using the contracted services

We sometimes get asked why people suspend their contracts if it results in paying more over time.  The answer is convenience.   You can continue to pay your Auto-Pay for the entire length of the contract even though you aren't taking the offering currently, and then transfer your paid credit to a future session when you are ready to take the class.  Let's look at an example.  Let's say you start a 8 week class in January, and you have a payment plan for $30 a week, but you need to drop out after completing 4 weeks.  The next session of the class starts in March. 

Person A: "Bob"- Bob wants the best deal and decides to continue paying the Auto-Pay.  Bob continues paying $30 a week during February which is a monthly total of $120, even though he is not taking the class in February.  At the end of February, his Auto-Pay contract ends, and he has successfully paid for one full session of the 8 week course.  Bob can now transfer his paid session from January to March, and take the March/April session for "free."  Bob attends all the March and April sessions because the class is 8 weeks.  In total, Bob paid $240 for the 2 month class, even though he attended the first month of the class twice (January and March). 

Person B:  "Julie" - Julie doesn't like the idea of paying $30 a week in February wants to suspend her Auto-Pay Contract.  Since Julie is not attending the class in the February, she'd rather save that money for something else.  Julie suspends her Auto-Pay Contract, and she starts getting charged $3 a week instead of $30 a week, for a monthly total of $12.  What a relief!  For a fee of $12, Julie deferred the last month of her Auto-Pay Contract.  Now it's March, and Julie is ready to take the class.  She transfers her contract from the January class to the March class, and the Auto-Pays resumes the first week of March.  Julie is charged $30 a week for the month of March, and the Auto-Pay Contract ends the last week of March, since Julie only had one month left on her Auto-Pay Contract.  (The first 4 weeks were paid in January, and the second 4 weeks were paid in March.  The class length is 8 weeks, so the contract was 8 weeks.)  Julie continues taking the session through April for "free", because her session is 8 weeks (March/April).  Because she chose to suspend her Auto-Pay contract for 1 month, Julie paid $252 ($240+$12 in fees), even though she attended the first month of the class twice (January and March).

Person C: "Clueless" - Clueless cancels his Auto-Pay contract. Since clueless cancelled his Auto-Pay Contract, no further fees or payments are deducted from his account.  Likewise, Clueless can not attend the remaining 4 classes in February even if he was available, since he doesn't have a valid payment option to cover the cost.  In accordance with our refund policy, Clueless is eligible for a 25% refund since he already attended half the class.  He receives an account credit for $30 since he paid in $120 so far.  Now it's March, and Clueless registers for the class.  Because the did not continue making payments and transfer the course, he must pay the full tuition price of $240 less the $30 account credit.  He is charged $210 ($240-$30) to take the course again. (However, he could break up the $210 into 8 payments with a new contract if he wants another Auto-Pay Contract.) 


If your contract is in default at the time of the offering, you must update your payment method and pay the overdue balance to continue participating in your contracted offerings.  We reserve the right to refuse service and ask you to leave if your contract is in default.  If your contract is in default for over 30 days, it will be terminated and the outstanding balance will be posted to your account as a negative balance.  You must clear the negative balance on your account before you can book any offering or use our services in the future.
